About Us
If you had told me a few years ago that I'd be spending weekends searching for old cowboy boots to turn into dog collars, I probably wouldn't have believed you.
But the truth is, I’m incredibly proud of what we’re creating.
What began as a simple idea has evolved into something much more special than either of us imagined. We’ve spent countless hours sourcing vintage boots, carefully taking them apart, studying the leather, testing designs on our own dogs, and searching for materials that tell a story. Along the way, we’ve discovered beautiful exotic leathers, unique stitching patterns, and the kind of craftsmanship that can only come from skilled hands, not a machine.
We’ve partnered with an incredible leather workshop to bring the collars to life. While neither Alaina nor I are master leather craftsmen, we’ve been involved in every step of the process, from sourcing and deconstructing the boots to refining construction details, selecting hardware, testing durability, designing packaging, and obsessing over the little things that make a product feel truly special.
Alaina designed our website. We’ve gone through more logo versions than I can count. We’ve changed materials, improved designs, and probably taken twice as long as we originally expected.
But every step has made the product better.
The collars aren’t mass produced. Each one carries part of a boot’s history and is built with extraordinary care. No two are exactly alike.
Most importantly, this has been something my daughter and I have built together. Watching Alaina take an idea and shape it into a real brand has been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.
Thank you for following along as Buck & Boots continues to take shape.
